What Happens To My Data?

To access the course content on our site, user data will be used as follows:

Account Data:

The user needs an account which requires an email address.

The account uses this email address to notify the user of notifications on the administration of their account e.g. to send login credentials and provide access to new course content.

Course Data:

As the user consumes course content the site may email the user with notifications of completion of content, completion of feedback forms, results of assessments or encouragement to progress through the course.

Course Questions:

If you ask a question on a Course page your Name, Avatar image and question will be visible to any other member of that course. This may include people from other universities.

Analytics:

The site collects Progress statistics on the user’s progress, such as what content has been consumed, when they last logged in etc.  This is collated into report data for University administrators. You can opt-out of sharing your course progress data with your university. You can opt-out on the course registration page or on the Share Progress page.

Other:

We only communicate with users and use their data in relation to the Course(s) they have access to and are consuming.

By default, we do not market to users.

Upon completion of the course content we can:

  1. Manually delete the user’s account (removing all their access to content and their progress). If we delete their account they will need to create new account if they are to access any new content. Any data or access to their previous account will have been removed. You can request us to delete your account via the Support page.
  2. Leave their account ‘dormant’ ready for access to any new content that your university (or institute) may want to offer you.

Support:

We will use your email address to respond to any queries.

Other Sites or other content:

Unless you explicitly give consent through accessing content on this site or our other sites, we will not contact you other than for the reasons above.
